This workshop series is designed to teach young children about collage making and books. Collage Workshop  for Kids by Shannon Merenstein will be used as a starting point, with Eric Carle picture books being the focus  of our four week workshop format. Basic concepts of paper use, color, texture, shape and line will be introduced  in a fun and active literacy rich format. A weekly story, collage and sharing time will all be part of our new  format with the main focus being to introduce art concepts and make collages with children ages 2-5.

Kits of art materials will be able to be picked up at GRACE’s Old Firehouse for participation which will include  directions, materials, and a copy of each of the Eric Carle books used for the lessons. Books include: “Head to  Toe,” “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See,” “Have You Seen My Cat?,” “The Very Hungry  Caterpillar.” A short video (10-15 minutes) will be uploaded here with our instructor welcoming our  participants, reading aloud the story of the week, and giving instructions for Lesson One. Families will have  until the following Monday to complete the project, and then they will be able to log on to a zoom community  with the instructor and all other participants from 10am-11am to share artwork and connect.Pre-Recorded  videos are posted on Tuesdays on our website www.graceart.org , with virtual meeting dates the following  Mondays:
